Default Sway bar question '09 IS250

Sorry if there is a post on this already but I'm on a slow connection and on my phone so I can't search that well.

I have an '09 IS250 and I've seen a few posts on people selling is350 stock sway bars from different years. And was wondering if they would fit?

Thanks.

Hmm...

Not sure if you want to do that... the IS350 rear sway bars are thinner than the IS250. It would cause more body roll than we already have. That is the same reason why our cars won't notice that big of a gain when we go F-Sport rear sways.

If I remember the numbers correctly, the difference between F-Sport and IS350 rear sways are like 50+ %. The IS250 and F-Sport rear sways are less than 20% difference.

IS350 will notice a BIG difference when they upgrade to F-Sport.

Interesting. So the 250 does have a sway bar already? I've just seen a lot of aftermarket sways and I figured it wasn't a stock feature haha.

Thanks for the info bud!

Stock IS250 and IS350 RWD sway bars are the same diameter. The subject is covered Here:

Look at post #425. I have gotten under both cars and measured the bars with a caliper, and they are the same.

My suggestion is to skip the sway bar upgrade for 250 owners. The gain is very minimal if you were to get the Fsport ones. As lowrideraz points out above, there shouldn't be any benefit from switching to a 350 sway bar.

^^^^Well, not really what I said. The F-Sport sway bars do offer a noticeable handling upgrade. Read the thread I reference above. What I said was, the bars for all ISX50 RWD models are the same. I have the F-Sport rear bar on my F, it is an upgrade. There is a Happy IS350 driver, a member of this board, with my old bar.
