I believe if you have the power telescoping column it will do it.

I don't have the luxury package, but rather the sport. I still have this feature somehow.

Do you have "power" telescoping column (the switch on the pic)? If you do, may be your power telescoping column is set to the highest and nearest to the dashboard so it does not move up and down.

my lexus tells me i got recalls, maybe they disable it to do the recall next week,,

2007 LEXUS IS350
Safety Recall ALE - Certain Lexus GS 350, GS 450h, GS 460, IS 350, LS 460, LS 460 L, and LS 600h L Vehicles - Valve Spring

This is an important Safety Recall. Please contact your authorized Lexus dealer and schedule an appointment to replace the valve springs with the newly designed ones as soon as possible.

What is the Condition? During the manufacturing process the valve springs on certain Lexus vehicles were contaminated with a foreign material. As a result, the strength of the spring might be compromised. Over time, there is a potential for the valve spring to develop a crack and eventually break. A broken valve spring may result in abnormal engine noise, vibration, and/or power reduction. In the worst case, the engine may stall or not accelerate as quickly as anticipated, which could result in a crash.

SSC 9LG - Potential Floor Mat Interference with Accelerator Pedal
This is an important Safety Recall to make it less likely that an unsecured or incompatible driver's floor mat can interfere with the accelerator pedal. Please contact your authorized dealer to have this remedy performed.

For additional information regarding our Pedal Entrapment Recall, click here.

Certain 2006 - 2007 GS, IS And RX400h Vehicles, Electric Power Steering Link (EPS) Assembly Replacement
This is an important Special Service Campaign. Please contact your authorized Lexus dealer to make an appointment to replace the electric power steering link (EPS) assembly as soon as possible.

Certain 2006 - 2007 GS, 2006 - 2008 IS And 2007 - 2008 LS Vehicles, Replacement Of Fuel Delivery Pipes (Fuel Rails)
This is an important Safety Recall. Please contact your authorized Lexus dealer to make an appointment to replace the fuel delivery pipes as soon as possible.

Certain 2006 - 2008 GS And IS Vehicles, Rear Brake Caliper Inspection
This is an important Service Campaign. Please contact your authorized Lexus dealer to make an appointment to inspect and lubricate the rear caliper slide pins as soon as possible.

Both the sport and luxury package (neither of which have anything to do with having navigation or not) have the power tilt/telescope steering wheel.

If you have memory seats you have this option, otherwise you do not. It's that simple.

wr322 it's not rocket science. Does your steering wheel have the power button and the left hand side of the steering column? If it does then you just need to adjust it and program it into your programmable settings on the door. Once you program it will do all the fancy moves you a looking for. If you don't have the power button on the steering column then no one can help you as you don't have that option.

Ah this makes sense. Because when you do the memory doesn't that adjust the steering wheel as well?
