I have a friend in another state that works for those "windshield glue repair" companies (I call it a scheme to poke fun at him). He's at gas stations, looks at cars and if he sees a crack, offers the service. It's basically a resin and glue that seals the crack and than can be smoothed out. While it costs $70 I think, the insurance covers it 100% so there isn't a deductable. Whether the same payment applies in California or for your insurance, I would have no clue. But, there are these same services all over Los Angeles, there are even ones that drive to you at work or home and does it there. Their names completely allude me now though.

depends on the size of the star. most qtr size and below can be repaired from getting any larger, dyi is not really worth it if you don't know what you are doing and considering the cost. usually its about $25-$50 to have it repaired. Also you're insurance should cover it without deductible [most plans] or affecting your rates.

I bought this glass repair kit from walmart for 10$ and used it on my s2000 and It repaired it flawlessly, had little suction thing and all....did a real nice job and never even looked like there was a crack there.

This should be covered by the insurance. I had State Farm Insurance and they allow 1 chip repair per year. It is free of charge...

If it needs to be replaced, then the comprehensive will cost you like $75.

Where is the crack at? If it's anywhere on the driver side, you are SOL. Shops aren't allowed to repair any driver side cracks by CA Law because it becomes a distraction to the driver.

Also if the crack is larger then 1 square inch, you are SOL. Place a quarter over the crack, if any lines pass the diameter, you are sOL. Cracks larger than 1 square inch cannot be safely repaired. It will still spread.

Its on the passenger side. its about a "dime" size i would say.
I guess, i will look into the insurance and see if they can take care of it.
