The reason why I asked about the Tq wrench.. It's basically very hard to break a stud or lug or key with a proper Tq wrench and proper setting...
Anything by hand is subject to un-equal pressure being applied... and thats when things break or strip.
ESPECIALLY when using the OEM Lug wrench..
Keep in mind the oem lug wrench is typically used for oem lugs in emergency situations....
Invest in a Tq wrench and name brand sockets, it will save you on trips to the dealership.

Yeah I know what you mean, I should stop being so cheap.
It all began when I did not have a tq wrench, I took my car to a shop so they can take off my spacers. The shop then over tq my old lugs with impact wrench.
I couldnt take off my lugs when my Work rims came, so I used an extension pipe on the OEM wrench, and broke the key on my first set of after market lugs.
I called road side service and they basically tore all my old lugs out (without stripping it) so I can put on my Work lugs.
However, the road side assistant guys put my Work lugs on with an impact wrench again!
When I tried to take off my wheels during the summer to clean them, the lugs would not budge even with an extension pipe. I took the car to the dealer so they can take the lug off and re tq it to spec. But I didnt end up taking the wheels off.
However, they didn't bother to tell me one of the studs were already stripped, and it was only luck that the wheel, which the stud got stripped, hit a metal shard and blew out.
