Damn Mark Levinson Subwoofer sucks *****! Love the rest of the 13 speakers... but that sub... so disappointing

So im gunna rip it out, make it a port, and get a single 12 in my trunk...

But, in general... Get a line out converter, wire it to your oem amp, throw a 500/1 or 600/1 in there with a 12" sub in a box from 4080 enclosures. I just got a JL 500/1 and a JL w6v2, but i couldnt swing the custom box for $375 yet so i bought a box for $25 shipped on ebay for now. I would have done it now, but i just got 20" vossens and suspension this week too, so the 4080 box will have to wait a month or 2.

I also have a JL W6v2 in a factory box. and a JL 500/1 and the bass ****.It bumps good.

jl 12" w6v2. ive had them in every car ive owned. and now i have one in my gs. wouldnt go any other way.

 

JL is the way to go, kickers are not bad either, i have kickers

 

Can I change the sub to Another sub 8" company without changing the amplifier ??

 

being that it's not sealed, it wouldn't really make a diff. Just remove the oem sub, throw a 10 or 12 in there, and call it a day.

 

What's a 4080 if you don't mind me asking?

well i got a sub box in my car and wish i got a custom one cuz it looks nicer. but overall i love my alpine type x and a 850 amp. sounds a lot nicer to me.
