Default how to change to HID?

hey guys

this is a noob question
but i have a IS250, and the headlights are xenon but not the "inside" ones

the ones closer to the grill
there this crappy yellow colour
i wanna change em to blue like my xenon's

do i need to open up the headlight to do this?
or can i just take the bulb out somehow without taking it apart and just change to a HID bulb? or a blue coloured one??

thanks for info!

i think you mean your high beam? it takes 9005 bulbs. i guess you can buy a 9005 hid kit if you really want hid

better to go with parking lights if you have DRLs

you could go with HIDs, but i think you lose your DRLs

i wouldnt get hid cause they will always be illuminated at 100% at all times because they are your drl lights as well as the high beam. Lots of people use LED lights for it which looks good but you lose the functionality of the highbeams as well. Others have tried aftermarket halogen bulbs that are suppose to give off a white or blueish tint but most have claimed that it didnt get rid of the yellow. I myself am trying a aftermarket halogen bulb this week its made by lumanics "pure blue" ill report back to when i see the results

There are two bulbs in that housing. The parking/city lights I believe, and the high beam halogen that acts as a DRL in the daytime. In that picture, it is the 9005 base high beam. You can try a blue tinted bulb to make the color whiter, though it will overall look dimmer. Or if you go LEDs, you will lose highbeam functionality.

ahhh
ok
im gonna look into some white bulbs, i saw a DIY of the parking lights and this guy put on LED's and they look REALLY good, but i dont know if its legal in australia to not have highbeams

im gonna be putting on a Fujita Intake soon, so i'll do it when i do that
wat LED's should i be looking at? and if i go with whiter bulbs, just ask for 9005 base high beam bulbs??

There are two bulbs in the housing that specific housing you're looking at. One bulb is the parking light and the other is the high beams. You'd want to change only the parking light to an LED. If Australia doesn't have daytime running lights, you can definitely change them to an HID if you want. But if you do, leave it as is. There's no benefit of changing it out when the stock bulb is designed to help you see.

Back to the LED: The bulb you're looking for is a 194 wedge type bulb. You can purchase them from v-leds.com

These are the ones I have in my car:

you can change both the parkign light and highbeam (9005) to led, but then you lose your high beam functionality. i would just change out the parking light and either live with the drl's being yellow in drl mode or have them turned off.

Another option is to simply have the dealer turn of your 9005/DRL functionality. You can put an LED parking bulb in there so it matches your HIDs, and you will only have that yellow when using high beams, which I assume is rarely.

OH ok
well here in australia, we dont have DRL's, so there are no lights on my car during the day
just u know how theres two settings for headlights?
is the dot setting just the parking lights??

so if i change just the parking lights to HID's i will still have highbeams??
but when i have the headlights just one normally i can only see the HID's??
and the 9005 bulbs only come on when i use my highbeams??
sorry for the questions

also, im getting a fujita SRI soon, so i'll change the lights when i install the intake
