30+ and 8.5" wide.

Yes, I have 235/35 and lowered around 1.5".

I think i'll go with the 225/35 next time around.

The offset is the difference. I run 19x8.5 with 35 offset 235-35-19's and only the slightest rubbing on U-turns, not enough to worry about.

Basically im rubbing on the screw/metal piece that holds the bumper and fender together. My tires got all cut up on the side.

It's a lot less than before for obvious reasons. haha

Im 235/35 also in the front, and mine is just when i hit a dip in the road, i guess the tire is hitting my fender and chunking up my tire. Maybe i also need a 225/35

^^ It's the fender tab & bolt that attach the corner of the bumpers to the fenders....

Common RUB AREA on the ISx50...

Yes, that's the one.

Same symptoms and everything. Only when hitting a bump at a moderate rate of speed.

NO.. you shave off the excess part of tha tab that is cutting up your tire..

Then you also shave some of the bolt head.....

Ok then...

Eventually, the noise will go away after the area of the tire has shaved away...

Sorry

Okay, Joe. I'm now lowered on coilovers and rubbing even more. The sound is insanely annoying. I will try your method.

I just wanted to clarify: "Shave some of the bold head" = you're speaking of the bold that holds the tab together?

Thanks!

how does that not sound safe?....relocate the screw further in shave off the bolt and slam that metal plate up with a hammer. did the job nicely for me. its been done multiple times. also you can use zip ties instead of a screw.
As another member so eloquently put it

"wow, I'm suprised at the garbage advice in this thread, aka "buy new wheels"... wow

Hartawan, I'm actually suprised your only NOW rubbing through your fender liner, especially running 20's. I rubbed though that ish the first month I had my IS and I'm rolling on 19's.

19x9 +28
19x10+28

to be exact.... and guess what no, rubbing.

here's the "secret".

FIRST: - either have a bodyshop/someone that know how to cut off/shave down that metal piece - do that. Then, bend UP that tab that connects the bumper to the fender. Bend that ish straight UP till its almost 90 degress and get it out the way.

SECOND: - take a heat gun and go absolutley nutz. I spent like 3 hours just heat gunning my front fender wells. Its actually quite a bit fun

Here's exactly what you gotta do. Look for any signs or signals of possible 'rub areas'. Get it crazy hot w/ the heat gun, then once its very hot/almost ready to melt, push it back away from where the tire would rub with something like a big rock (fist size or bigger). Then while your pushing it back, cool it down ASAP with cold water (ice cold spray bottle water). That way it will instantly harden and cool down in place where you pushed it back.

CONCLUSION: cut that metal piece off. bend up that tab. and have loads of fun going nutz with a heat gun, big rock and ice cold spray bottle.

DONE.

All other advice in this thread - disreagrd!"

Sounds good. Will attempt this tonight.

BTW, how low are you? My tires are slightly tucking all around.

Thanks again!
