V-led DRL HELP!!!!!!!
^ Just a heads up, the older style of VLED's LED DRL (http://www.v-leds.com/Vehicle-Specif...-p9167453.html) does a better job at filling the headlight housing with light, but the new one looks good too. Both have excellent build quality.
I know its costly to buy another set of bulbs, but it bothers me that it doesn't look as good as it could

I think the older style bulbs will require more power. My friend tried the bulb without the relay and its not fully bright. I mean it does look bright but not as bright as mine. I think if it bother you that much, you should exchange your new DRL kit for the older kit. See my previous post on the wiring diagram. Its not that bad once you lay out your connections to see the whole picture. Also find a friend to help you who is comfortable with running the relay.
Here is another idea: Order the older DRL kit and test it when your current setup. If it is to your liking then keep it and exchange your newer DRL kit. If the older bulb don't lights up fully b/c no relay, then you can decide to either run that relay or return it.

That's a very good question...I've been wondering the same myself. I think it should be fine considering it's 12v, but maybe you should flip the guys at Vleds an email for a definite answer.
Because the prospect of running that relay around the engine bay scared me (I'm not so great with wiring), I purchased and installed the newer VLED DRL with module. It looks fine, but you're right about it not filling the headlight housing well. I was wondering if I would be able replace the bulbs (that came with the newer kit) with the 6k 28LED bulbs that came with the older DRL kit.

I also asked about perhaps just buying a higher amp fuse for the DRL, but was warned that it may damage the wiring itself. So, we're stuck. Either drill and run a relay for the older, brighter LED DRLs, or buy the new, 100% plug and play, but dimmer (by 50%) LED DRLs. Compromises suck!
See my post above. The stock LED DRLs are limited to 6v, you need the relay to get around that power restriction.

Sounds like we have the exact same thinking, and I too do not like messing with wiring/electronics. In addition to the relay bothering me, you have to drill a hole into your moisture shield, which I really didn't want to do. I'm a big fan of 100% plug and play, completely reversible mods, which is why the new V-LED LED DRL kit was so enticing. However, knowing that I could have something brighter still bugs me. OCD FTL.

. Oh well. I'm just glad my DRLs aren't a dull yellowish color anymore. Eeep, I totally forgot about having to drill the hole! That's just one more thing I'd have to worry about fudging up!
