Correct me if I am wrong, but recalls are NOT voluntary. The issue here is that Lexus doesn't even have an official fix yet, so there is no recall to perform. Regardless, if the OP paid for his car and it's sitting on the lot he should either get a loaner car, or not have to make payments.

Hmm, I have worked for a few dealers in the past here in Arizona and every single one the lot attendants are instructed to take the plate off when dealer takes delivery of a trade in. Just looked odd to me haha

If the salesperson told you the day after he sold it that you're not going to be able to drive it because of the internal recall, then you have to wonder what else doesn't he know about the car. You should request a carfax if you don't already have one, and demand a loaner ISF and work your way down from that. I have an 06 is350 T/P, you'r gonna love the ride. I'm not feeling the chrome rims tho thats my 2 centavos.

I did take delivery of the vehicle buy driving it around the block. And I have seen the carfax all is good. I'm gona keep my cool till monday and see what they do for me.

And yes, the chrome rims are gona be one of the first things to go...That is if I can figure out what rims I want. Was thinking hyperblack lc818 but the wait of 3-4 months is just to long.

So I just got back from Lexus today getting my 25k service and I spoke with the Service manager and he said they are still waiting on parts from lexus to even start the recall process. He said mid-august they will start fixing this issue....

Dude, you need to get your car and bring it back to them when the recall is ready. You know you could be waiting over a month before this gets fixed?? Lexus doesnt even have a timeframe yet set in stone!

They are holding your car hostage if you already took delivery, its your car!! not theirs!

this is ILLEGAL actually! Go there monday and demand to pick up your car! wtf! jeez

the valve spring recall which hasn't be officially announced to US consumers just yet. It currently only has the 350 on the list, as well as some of the other Lexus, but not 250 or AWD....yet. But a signed recall notice has been done already.
