Lyle,

I have the flat silver caps and they fit fine without spacers. I don't know why yours doesn't?

Really? Interesting... I guess I'll see if it works for me. I haven't actually tried to see if it fit, I was just going off what Zoeb and the Wheel/tire shop told me.

What is your 2IS? Mine is a 10' 350

I put the caps on before putting the wheels on the car. It's a VERY close fit. The spindle pretty much pushes onto the cap, but i don't feel that it's going to pop out.

I have a 2008 IS250 RWD

Geez, well if it's that close then I may just try shaving a little bit of the inside of the cap with a Dremel or something. Could probably shave 1-2mm easy!

But maybe there is a difference between the 250 and 350 axle?

Thanks for the heads up! I'll check into this when I get home from work!

Yeah, I thought about doing that too (shaving the little plastic pieces on the back). But it fits fine and hasn't popped out or anything. It's pretty secure so I am not worried.

I'll show you the red caps soon

Upon further review, I took the wheel off and saw that there really isn't enough threads on the spindle sticking out, so I will not be cutting them.

However, thanks to the tip from Kayotic, I was able to remove the spacer and get the caps to fit.

I just had to Dremel some of the inside of the cap down, and they fit on there perfect!

Thanks for your guy's opinions and concerns for safety!

you would think before doing something drastic like shaving the axle, you would know for sure that the caps dont fit.

Ya you're right! I guess I should just ignore what the manufaturer and distributer say.

I know Lexus tells me to use motor oil, but I think I'll just try out peanut oil, just to see for myself if it works!
