Here you go Rob. The Panda Coils are on and sitting nice. Going to get alignment done tomorrow or Thursday. Props to AutoFashion for their awesome shop. I didn't even change your spring rate settings. Left them at the stiff setting and just had them tweak the height settings. Over all came out great, looks great, and I feel great. I can't even fit my finger in the rears and can fit 1 finger in the front with a tiny bit of room to wiggle. I could have went lower and I was tempted too, but it wouldn't be practical without ripping my kit off with the ****ty driveways and speedbumps they have at some of the places I frequent. As far as rubbing issues, hardly at all. Crazy thing is no fender mods at all lol. Maybe I wore the crap out of everything the last 4 years or rubbing on turns and stuff.

Pictures may not do it justice, but I tried my bestestsess! I seriously can't believe I rode around like this for 4 years, I'm glad I'm back in the scene though. Next are replacing these *****ty rims.

lexy250 07-06-10 08:02 PM

yes, how the hell can you tell lol, I tried to take a picture to not reveal it with the lighting. Your eyes are too good sir! May be up for trade for OEM and some extra cash though. I have some big plans, but still debating.

SD.IS 07-06-10 08:09 PM

Thanks. It just isn't low enough if you don't hear that once in awhile lol. I broke it in already on the way home haha.

lexy250 07-06-10 08:20 PM

Ahh, they changed my title. Sorry Rob :p

bnizzle87 07-06-10 08:49 PM

looking good! is there any rubbing or was there fender shaving involved?

I have slight rubbing when my car dips in the front. It's when the car gets a pretty hefty weight load shifted down though. Normal bumps and even speed bumps aren't a problem. Honestly, I expected so much more. I didn't shave or do any fender mods what so ever, which was really surprising. Like I mentioned before, I think after driving 4 years and constantly rubbing on turns might have wore down some of the areas that have issues. I wanted to go lower, but if I get stuck on a speed bump it's game over for my underbody. Some of the speed bumps at the schools I go too are not driver friendly.

no worries brah, I'm ready!!! lol. I told the guy dump it more, cause if worse case, I can buy another. Great thing is, it's poly urethane, so shouldn't have to worry to much about splitting it. Still trying to rep the 808 proper. Will do so even more, when I grab bags....someday lol

Yeah, the grill does look pretty out of place from those shots, but it's not that much of an eye sore when standing and looking at the car. Definitely something I'll take into consideration. Reason for new rims is.....after 4 years of these, it's more than time to move on. Already have my rims picked out, just need to tell Freddie at AF to order em lol....2-3 more months.

Nice perfect drop. You make me wanna lower my front a bit more now. Any rubbing full lock? just wow perfect stance spot on IMO

Thanks Josh, means a lot coming from someone with a great car himself. As far as full lock, I haven't pushed it high speed around corners, I'm sure body roll would force it to rub. I have turned full locked at slow speeds and not a dam thing. I'm perplexed about there being no rubbing lol. I'll do some moderate testing tomorrow to see if I can hear anything.

KWang 07-06-10 10:48 PM

Yeah, I love it! When I first looked at this grill, I was like meh, but after seeing it first hand on peoples car, it really looked great. Thanks man

Thanks and definitely not. Funny thing is I was getting that from my stock suspension. I think the guy who fixed my car a few years back didn't tighten it correctly or something, cause it was pissing me off. I'll go hit some more bumps tomorrow to see if I get any thud noises.

whitecel 07-07-10 12:54 AM

Looks great! I like it :)

hahahah. But seriously, I'd be interested too since you hear mixed reviews of the clunking. Good to get a locals perspective

Yeah dude, I was going to go springs as a cheap alternative to a drop, but honestly I've modded other cars and it always ends up that way. Springs, then coils, so I just skipped the springs.

It was Robs IS250's eyes only!

Nice subtle approach to the wheel Rob! I can't afford those mang, plus them may not go with my theme ;)

lexy250 07-07-10 11:28 AM

Josh,

I did some u-turns full locked on the street at roughly 10-15 mph and didn't get anything. Now when I turn into driveways at higher speeds the body roll definitely causes rubbing. But honestly I shouldn't be flying into driveways that fast lol, just testing.

Kanklez & Whitecel,

Absolutely no metal clanking noises at all. Hit some manhole covers at 45 - 50 mph and nada. I also tried this place where I always had issues with my stock set up and not a dam thing.

From my understanding, it's usually a case where the top hats or strut mounts aren't secured properly. That's just the typical case via shop(shlop) work. There's tons of stuff that could be wrong when there's thud sounds coming from bumps. The tightening nut under the adjustment knob could be loose, settings too low which starts effecting other parts like sway bars to start hitting. But like I said, the main issue with coils from experience is not tightening them properly.

llamaboiz 07-07-10 11:40 AM

what island are you on?

lexy250 07-07-10 11:44 AM

Unfortunately I no longer live in Hawaii bro. I use to live in Salt Lake, Oahu. Been there since I was a kid and I miss the islands so much. I shipped my car to Cali, when I moved here about 3 years ago. I still rep Hawaii because that's where I always say I'm from lol.

llamaboiz 07-07-10 11:47 AM

ic... cuz AutoFashion is a socal company so i was just wondering~ AND in your pics the trees look not hawaii :p

JoshIS408 07-07-10 01:58 PM

Lexy250- Gracias. Think ima drop my front more next chance i get.

lexy250 07-07-10 02:23 PM

WAIT!!! lol update! Josh do you have you fenders modded at all? I just checked my wheel well and my tires have officially rolled my fenders for me free lol. I didn't blow my fenders out, it just bent the top inside part inward to adjust for the tire. I'm actually lucky that it didn't complete blow out my fender. I have no buckling or anything and the outer part looks fine, just the inside got pinched up. It's at the apex of the wheel well, it I'm sure it's a result of full lock. It's not even noticeable til you stick your hand in there. I had a feeling today and wanted to check it. Just got done doing a long ride on the new drop to really get a feel for it. I had planned to shave or cut my fenders later anyways, but just a warning for you man.

JoshIS408 07-07-10 02:28 PM

Is it your front or your rear?

Front cause of turning. Rears can go full slam and not even worry cause the tire never turns =P
