learn from my mistakes my friend, i bought a 250 and loved it until i wanted to show off but couldn't pull away from anything on the street due to the power that the 250 pushes. I then upgraded to the 350 and have been satisfied since, the power of the 350 is sooooo nice, when you get the loaner 250 at the dealer youll be like im so happy i upgraded, heck but that's always the case now i want an f but i think the 350 will do for now. remember although the 350 isnt the fastest car on the planet its faster than the 250 and its noticeable.

what are the reasons? if its scratches/swirls in the paint that is an easy fix, curbed rims? you're just gonna buy new, maybe a tear in the leather? wouldnt you want an excuse to reupholster with suede?...
lets hear those reasons

Like others have said, if you still have the need for speed in you, get the 350. If you only care about ho your car looks, get the 250. A member once said, "drive slow, park hard". I've been using that $5k I saved and am doing just that. If I ever want speed, I can just get a used motorcyle for $5k .

"The average car as of 2009 gets from 0 to 60 mph in 8.95 seconds"
IS250 0 to 60 = 7.5 seconds
IS350 0 to 60 = 4.9 seconds
Contrary to popular belief, the IS250 is faster than the average car by a lot.
Also contrary to popular belief, there's almost never a need to go 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds. I do it for the thrill, but it's never a necessity to put 3 bus lengths between you and the car to your right just to make a lane change.

i drove a BMW 335i and compared to my IS250, the power is just WOW
but to me, "cruising" is more my kinda thing than speeding
driving slow, low, with the music playing, just perrrfect
cant drive the IS350 yet in australia cuz its not out yet, lol
will be picking up a 350 later on, when some nice pre owned ones come up in a few years

You want the 350. The paddle shifters in any model other than the IS-F are not very satisfying. I was excited about mine (I have a 350) when I first bought it, because I was hoping for something at least similar to the DSG experience in an Evo or GT-R.
The biggest problems with the x50 shift paddles are:
1.) Failure to rev-match on downshift. For someone who drove a real stick for several years, this just feels jerky and wrong, like I am an idiot and damaging my car. It also makes passengers think you are incompetent.
2.) The shifters actually just set a maximum gear. Not as annoying as it might sound, but it's still not quite the sort of thing I was expecting.
3.) The shifts can be very slow. You have to plan ahead, because there is a delay of 1-2 seconds after you hit the shifter paddle. This can mean hitting the limiter if you aren't paying attention.
As such, it's better to get the model with a beast of an engine; that way, you will have plenty of speed in full-auto mode.
