Hmmm, I was actually going to say it looks like a BB or something was shot at you, just based on the extent of the damage (rocks don't usually chip paint away down to the primer when it's a hit on the side of your car) and angle of the damage. Boo.
Dealership i bought my car from said they would fix my first ding withen the first year of owning the car for FREE... no deductable, and it doesnt go on my insurance. Id look into that from where you got your car
^^^Agree... within a short period of owning a new car. It's worth a shot to talk to your dealer about ding or scratch repair.
My step sister scratched her front bumper on her new Accord within 2 weeks of buying the car. Then I told her to take it in to the dealer and see if they'll help. Sure enough, the removed the scratch and painted her bumper for free. Just talk to them nice... most of them can understand where you're coming from on a new car.
So it was shot from a bb gun, not a rock. My dealer said they don't do body work and but they worked with an independent dealer, so I said no thanks. Local shops quoted me about ~$500 -- bondo, primer, paint, pearl, clear coat and labor. Since the damage was on the lower door panel where it slightly curves downward, I just filled it in with touch up paint from Sewell. Still somewhat noticeable but not an ugly gray splotch on my door
