Lay off the OP too, not everyone can afford to spend that much on mods. some people have other priorities. e.g. would you rather spend the extra $400 on a college fund for your kids or on a lip? it's nice if you can buy authentic, just don't bash others.

But it also sucks when some of us here pay way more for authentic and other people pay half maybe less for their replica.

Here's my take.
I want to provide as much business as I can to the companies that keep the aftermarket tuning scene alive - the ones who innovate and bring new products to the market. Hard economic times mean less availability, less selection, and less R&D, so its more important than ever to support authentic.
Most of the cars that I see around here have several mods. I know that the OP's car has a mix of both replica and authentic parts, so that means that the industry overall is benefiting from his decision to mod his car. And that benefits all of us.
So in closing, buy authentic whenever you can, but don't bash the guy that chooses not to.
(Unless he's passing his replica parts off as authentic

Timing is everything! OP was lucky to find a replica that fit like a glove!! Props to OP for being honest as well. 
Cuz seriously folks, if he didnt say the lip was a replica we would've thought its authentic. 
And even if I can afford the real Vertex (which is not that expensive compared to other kits), I will still buy a replica front lip. Reason being, the front lip will get damaged/scratched the most on the car. So if it does get damaged, at least I will still be able to sleep well at night knowing it only cost me $200 vs. $600+.

Here's a thought: If the OP posted pictures of this lip painted and installed on his car and DID NOT mention it was a REP... and said it was a Vertex 09+ Front lip.
