I wish my bumper looked like that when some crazy b**ch hit my car while I was in school. Not even sure what the value on my car is now, but I've had it since they came out in '06 and plan on running her til she dies, so I'm not even worried. Sucks this happened to you. Like Brociouz said, don't file the claim to DMV lol, I know I didn't. But I had cops involved and my insurance company also. The DMV is the number one spot that CarFax checks when dealing with resale of cars, all it costs them is a pretty penny to the DMV to get the information.

You can check this page out and it will tell you everything about CarFax's resources for finding stuff out. I think it really boils down to the actual people reporting the information to CarFax.

Last night I'm at work...and I hear over the intercom, "Can the owner of a black Lexus..." I started running outside and sure enough....SOMEONE HIT MY CAR! Luckily one of my coworkers saw him and stopped him and got me his info while I stared at my bumper, shaking my head, completely speechless. WOW!
