so last few days I post a thread on an 2008 IS250, blk on blk, 27k miles, and seller (private) and I both agree on $23k. On Sunday, I met him and test the car and it was pretty good. I bargained down to $23k (he originally asked for $23.5k,) and I also asked him to write the sell price lower than $23k so I can save on tax and he agreed. It's not totally legit on the tax but u know... every one does it and I'm sure DMV knows what's up but there's nothing they can do when seller and buyer put the same amount of the Bill-of-Sale. I actually have already done a GS300, 2006 for $2k sale price and an 07 IS250 for $2k too. I paid $198 each on the transfer and the tittles got mailed in no problem. The GS was for my sister, the IS was for me but got totalled a few weeks ago.

This morning, monday, he called, he said he can only put the exact amount. EXACT amount. He said he understood that it maybe a deal breaker so if I dont wanna do then it's fine. I explained it's gonna be ok but he was firmed at word so... the deal broke and I lost my lexus. He said he's an honest person and he just can't lie.

There's always something negative of something good!

To me, if this lexus meant to be mine, then he'll call me back. But if it's not, it never will.

If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be. Don't worry, you'll find your baby

I also consider waiting until the CT come out, plus the IS is going to get out-styled soon so it's not very wise to buy now. But u know CA has earthquake everyday, everyday and who know who live thru it, so I want to enjoy before it happens under my feet.

^ Did you just justify buying a car because you might die from an earthquake soon? I love that.

Where in CA are you located? I'm looking for someone to take over my payments because I'm in the market for a differnt car still. If you're serious about getting the IS, PM me =)

Brave for putting 2k for a 20k+ car. If DMV didn't have their cut backs, do you think they would investigate the price?

Everyone trying to scam everyone. No wonder our society and economy is so screwed up. Bravo to that guy for telling you no.

In TX we all pay taxes based on the value of the car.. doesn't matter what you "paid" anymore.

And this is probably the reason they do this guys like this wanting to get over on the system to save a few bucks... if u got over 20k cash to give someone then u should have enought for the taxes

The DMV and IRS areant dumb. Its his butt thats on the line for putting a $2k sale price down on a car that is worth over $20k. I dont blame the guy. You can get away with that on a 10 yr old honda with high milage. But we're talking about a luxury car thats 2 years old.

Shame on you for posting your illegal activity on the internet. I'm glad that guy didn't agree to your terms as that could really mess him up. What you were trying to do was scam the government when you already worked out a great deal.
