Default Replacing hid bulbs

Is it easy to DIY? Do I have to take out the front bumper to get into the housing to replace the bulbs? I had to on my '01 C320. And which 6000k brand is the best/preferred from ebay?

Thanks much!

yea its pretty easy to do. you dont need to take off the front bumper to do it just pop your hood. it makes easier for me to take the airbox out for passenger side and pull the washer fluid tube out for driver side.

i changed over to hid's last week and im a huge newbie at this car. the passenger side is abit easier as it has more room for you to play with. take out the intake box to get to the bulb. the driver side you pull off the washer fluid tube. dont be scared it actually comes off.. took me awwhile to figure that one out, but it pulls off and you just have to play with getting the socket while getting the bulb back in.

try to remember how the socket sits before pulling it out. that way when you put in the new socket you know which tab goes where.

also, be careful and try not to lose your engine cover pins. i mean after puting one in and you go to another if you move the cover at all the pins might jump out into the engine bay somewhere. i lost 2. and didn't find it. good luck...let me know if you need more help.

assuming you have HID's from the factory, here's a DIY thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ment-help.html

btw, you can find this using the search function along with the search key words "D4S" and "DIY".

hope this helps.
