in any case, it seems v-leds might be discontinuing the 68 LED? since i can't find it on their website anymore, at least not the white ones.

NOTE: There are two different types of LED from v-leds being mentioned in this thread.

For those with the 68 LED from v-leds or similar LED from other brands, as twixx and xuningshen pointed out, installation is very easy, and no drilling, since all you need is the 9005 DRL module from v-leds, which fits inside the housing.

But svntwosix has the high power 28 LED, and v-leds suggests using an extra HID relay harness. I'm not sure how everything's hooked up, and i don't have these, but looks like the relay harness might be the reason why svntwosix said drilling is needed.
Yes, what raptor is saying is correct, I have the 28 LED Newer ones that you need to run the HID relay to it along with 1 of hte modules. If you guys read my post, you would've seen me say I want to exchange for the older 68 LED one, which you both are referring to. You have to drill a hole to put in the HID relay on both sides. AND you need to tap into the fuse box. Not worht the hassle for 2x brighter lights in the DRL. I would skip the bragging rights.

You will need that if you don't want them to flicker in day mode.

so SMT SMD 68 LED HID requires the module to avoid flickering or only the 28 LED?

^ both of them require the module to avoid flickering. some people can endure the flickering though. it's only 10dollars, i would get it.

you guys and your discoballs... heres what i use from ebay's warden_jp2002, had it for almost 3yrs now and no problems and no discoball *when on* and no yellow bug eyes *when off*, due to this type of LED the flicker makes it look like a mini HID so no relay for me

I got the same 9005 bulbs as llamma, and installed them yesterday. They definitely rock. Got them from warden jp as well. The best part, they don't cost as much as the vled bulbs, and you don't need a separate harness. Plus, most of us are just trying to get rid of the yellow.

I looked on Ebay for the mentioned seller, warden_jp2002, and the only LEDs I could find was HB4/9006 Fog Lamp 1W High Power LED bulb..will these work for the DRLs? He did not have any auctions for HB3/9005 like the one llamaboiz mentioned.

So how does the dealership turn the DRL's off? and can I do that without going to them?
