Sorry - Nothing to update for now. LoL
The wiring as shown (only 2 ways for the drivers door) is the only way to do it right now...
Unless you rewire to inside the car.

Dang, I ran into the same issue as Joe Z. I have an '06, no Sport/Lux package. I used the white wire with the black stripe from the larger harness and the orange wire from the smaller harness. When I turn off the car, the passenger light stays on but the driver's side turns off. I think based on my car, I followed the instructions correctly... did anyone else try this on an '06?

Although the "mismatch" in behavior didn't really bother me (you have to lean forward to see the driver's side LED anyway), what I really liked was the dimming behavior when you shift from P to D. In P the LEDs are at 100% brightness, when you shift to any other position they dim about 50%. It's a lot more work to wire them this way but IMO well worth it - the dimming effect it provides is very classy. Thanks sinister2c!
I'll see if I can take some night shots to give all those asking an idea of what it looks like in the dark.

Only replaces the door locks and you will need to order 2 sets. The led is optional. Reading very thoroughly usually helps ><

bump for any night pics
also, does it seem to be more neccessary to wire them in with the dimming footwell lights, or are they not too bright just wired in the door panel?

The brightness doesn't change depending on where you wire them to - it's the behavior that changes. The brightness when I had them wired to the window switches is exactly the same as when I wired them to the footwell LEDs.
I don't have my car right now to take any night pics, but I'm not sure what the point of them is - it's not going to look any different than the picture I already posted - the light looks a bit brighter in that picture because I left the shutter open longer to exaggerate the light output so you guys could see it.

Thanks for the pic
I was just trying to figure out if they were too bright/stood out to much without being dimmed while driving, or if they were fine to just be on "full power" the whole time
