Default Is350 2008

I must be crazy. I'm thinking about buy a 2008 IS350 with 140,000 miles on it but in great condition. Or a GS 350 2007 with 130k. There are a few here with same or more I see. I feel pretty confident but I've never bought a car with such high miles. But will for a Toyota or Lexus. My buddy has a similar is350 with almost 150 and it runs strong. Just wondering what you all think.

Thx

B

I think there are more than a few here with that mileage. We purchased our '08 IS250 a few months ago with 151,000 miles and she runs great. I trust the brand though having owned my '99 GS400 for 20 years and 232,000 miles...

155k on my 08 now. Nothing major really.

-All service campaigns (airbag, dash and door panels) and recalls done
-Water pump at 120k
-Rear driver strut replaced at 125k
-Front passenger sway bar link at 135k
-Fuel pressure sensor at 130k (died a few months after having the recall done on it)
-Rear driver caliper at 120k and 150k (rebuilt one seized up while driving, boot wasn't seated properly from whomever Autozone sends them to for rebuilding)
-Transmission fluid exchange at 110k
-Spark plugs at 100k
-Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil every 5-7k miles
-Rear diff fluid every 30k
-Brake fluid every 30k or 2-3 years
-Coolant every 100k/3 years

Everything else is original. Feeling like I'm going to have to start checking the suspension components more often now though, some of the rubber components are starting to show their age.

~145k on my 06 IS250 rwd now.

- Air Bag recall performed
- Alternator replaced at ~130k

Everything else is original minus routine maintenance items. My mechanic says one of the rear struts is leaking, and the passenger rear door lock stopped working recently. Otherwise, the car runs and looks great for it's age and mileage.

My girl's 2011 IS250 has 158,000+ on the clock and runs like a champ. Oil changed with 0w20 full synthetic every 7,500 - 10,000 miles. Just performed coolant flush. Trans fluid is untouched. Car rides tight. Suspension still handles nice and tight.

I've got 195K on my 07 IS350. Just did front shocks, sway bar links trans fluid and filter.
A year and a half ago I got new dash and all four door panels from the melting dash recall. Like a new car now.
Dan
PS: I sold the ES in my avitar at 385K and the new owner took it well past 400.

08 is250 awd with 172k still runs like a champ, just replace all struts , water pump, spark plug, front and rear differential fluid. Other than caliper, rotor, pads, battery, and alternator no major issue in cost. If i can get another 100k will be well worth it.
