the new styling on the C just doesn't do it for me. I think the 2IS is one of the best looking cars on the road.

c class hands down. My co worker has the C300 and it is very nice. C300 is quicker, bigger, has built in hard drive navigation, comfortable back seats with leg room, etc..

I've tracked both and the C was a big let down. The car did not handle well and was slow to react to inputs. Also felt a lot of body lean. This stuff would matter to me in accident avoidance situations.
I also disliked the C's dash and materials. Very cheap and boxy inside and it already looks dated. I too agree the rear styling is frumpy. It droops and sags, lending a soft and weak look.
The IS may be slower, but handles better, coddles more, and is styled very nicely.
You should drive both and see how you like them.

IS250 for me. I think the exterior is more fluid and graceful on the IS than the Benz. The IS interior in general is one of the nicest out there. The materials and layout are nice and logical, compared to the Benz. And finally, you get solid reliability with the IS.

i'm a fan of the IS interior over the C300. The navigation screen in the c300 is pretty huge though.

I think new c-class looks an awful lot like the new Accord. They're growing on me but I'm still not loving it.

Numbers are deceiving..... Power delivery for the mercedes comes at the lower rpms in the manual car and at higher rpms , say after 5000 all u get is noise. The is 250 has a less torquey feel but a power band noticeable until the redline. ....That's How.

BTW. It surprises me how many people claim that the Merc's interior feels "cheap" Its WAY better assembled and finished than the IS's. A simple test: press any of the paneling with your fingers. The lexus' ionterior will yield subtle creaks while the mercs will remain quiet.
Remember both are good cars and quite evenly matched. Drive em!

C300
1. more room
2. more power
3. more gas....18/25 for 3.0L engine????
4. safer than any other sedans

IS250
1. looks better
2. better resale value $$ after couple years
3. reliable
4. good gas mileage.

If you really need room for people in rear seats, C300.
If not, IS250....

I would not buy the C for the one reason it has a very blah interior... I think the dash is very 20 years ago and the seats don't even compare to the comfort of the IS. Go with the Lex!

also, the rear of the IS looks 1000000000X better than the C. I liked the rear of the Last-gen C class much better...

Please go with the C class as there are a lot of 250s on the road already Well just go with whatever floats your boat. IMO, everything looks good for the C, but the taillights aren't too sleek enough compare to the IS taillights which (looks more sporty and aggressive at night).
