Just for the record, I'm not accusing anyone of anything. I'm just confused is all. That plus it really irks me when somebody makes a claim to a vehicle that doesn't even belong to them (i.e. It's my dad's but he lets me drive it sometimes, so it's basically mine). That sort of thing.

You'll see so many people with signatures that say "SLR Mclaren, ferrari 430, audi R8, lamborghini gallardo, bmw 335i"
on a BMW forum, say (although I don't mean to pick on bmw, this happens on other luxury car forums also).
and you've got the person using the typical teens/20s internet speak with the 'LOLs" and the internet flaming, etc.
It's just so blatantly obvious that those supercars aren't theirs. People who have the money to buy a million in cars do NOT go onto these car forums 99.99% of the time.
The .01% of the time they do, they are VERY discreet about their identity. They would never list their fleet of supercars in their signature like that. Maybe they might make 5 posts in the span of a year just to ask some technical questions regarding the car.

No I was just making a comment because it was sort of relevant. I've never seen anyone on CL like that.
Actually I have another story that's SORT of vaguely relevant (but not really because it doesn't have to do with cars) -
we're family friends with this nobel laureate in physics, really smart guy. really really wealthy.
I was at his house for a function once and he wanted to show me a video. He didn't understand something in the video and made a comment about it, asking why it was the way it was "shouldn't it be this?" he was very humble about it.
Someone on youtube replied to him and said something to the tune of "holy **** you are god damned retarded read the ****ing video description moron"
What does this nobel laureate do? Does he reply with "hey i'm actually a nobel prize winning multimillionaire physicist so i'm not dumb i'm better than you!"
Nope.
he replied with "sorry my mistake" and that was that. on his profile he's been signed up for 2 years and has watched a total of ~50 videos. no comments no uploads no nothing. no information, he's very discreet.
back to cars, the point is the people who actually own a veyron, mclaren, r8, lambo, $100k+ porsche, etc. etc. aren't on the car forums letting the entire internet know of their collection.
they tend to be very discreet online and most of the time they don't even have time for forum talk, etc.
