Local Lexus dealer wanted to charge me $400 for the 30K miles service. I brought it to a reputable mechanic, and he charged me $250.

Now call him back, ask what the price would be for a brake fluid change and an oil change, and nothing else.

because that's what you actually need them to do at 30,000 miles.

(plus air and cabin filters, which you can do yourself in 5 minutes and shouldn't ever pay a dealer to do for you)

Don't ever ask a dealer for an "x miles" service. He'll triple the price and do the exact same amount of work. All that extra work is just "inspections" that he's going to do for free with any service you have done.

What you actually need to do on a 2IS by the book-

Every 5k: Oil change

Every 15k: Air and cabin filter changes (do these yourself)

Every 30k: Brake fluid change

Every 60k: Spark plugs changed

Every 100k: Coolant changed

That's it.
