The only time I turn the HIDs on during the day is when it's raining. We have a wipers on/lights on law in this state.

I agree the DRLs are kind of ugly, but I live with it.

Does your highbeams still work? and once you turn ur drl's off, its off completely or on at night too?

Yeah, the dealer has to turn them off... I just had it done when I had my LPS done. Highbeams still work fine.

And don't mind being hassled by law enforcement.

Question

If you drive with your headlights on during the day that means the tail lights are also on. Doesn’t that increase the possibility that someone behind you will think those are your brake lights, where they will briefly brake themselves, thereby causing some artificial traffic problems as everyone slows down? Or worse, unlike at night, may someone not notice the difference when you do brake, increasing the possibility of a rear end collision?

I leave mine on auto, which works fine the majority of the time. If its raining or I'm in a situation where I need the light, I manually turn them on.

With so many cars having DRLs for safety reasons, and most people knowing about DRLs, I don't think any one "looks stupid" with them on. Many states have signs along the highways, "Lights on for Safety".

I personally would not disable a feature that increases my chances of being seen by other drivers who are playing with their iPods, cell phones, and talking to their best friends or kids, especially at twighlight or on cloudy days.

No way. I am giving some consideration to having my DRLs turned off too.
