PIAA Fog Lights..
Im looking at PIAA fog light replacement bulb. (I know a full HID conversion kit is the best thing to do) I know i need 9006. Im just trying to match the HID factory look a little better than my factory fog lights. I know you cant match them and its pretty much impossible unless you do a full conversion on both head and fog light. (Ive done my searches)
My question would this bulb work it says its "rated at 4000k and provides 115 watts of light form only 51 watts". What does that even mean? Will it melt the factory harness or anything?

ebay, or ddmtuning.
as for the op, I don't really trust those claims. Every time I've used a bulb that has supposedly drawn only 50w or whatever but put out 100 or something, it usually ends up being dimmer than my original, simply because of the blue coating they apply to make the bulb look whiter.

If you didn't want to go HID conversion for the fogs, I imagine these PIAA bulbs are the highest quality alternative? If not, what would be? Any issues with the PIAA's installed on the IS?

I agree with Judd. I paid 60 for each the 9006 and 9005. They might be cheaper online some where but never had problems with them. I run the H3 piaa on my 1991 Z28.
The silverstars are cheaper alternative to the PIAA's my friend runs them in this PT Cruiser. But i hear the silverstar ultras dont last as long.
I had my Piaa for about 4 years now.
