I always make it a habit to never take delivery of a vehicle until I have inspected every inch of it. Once you drive it off the lot, their compensation is never the same. Of course, like you, I've learned this the hard way.

They take it so seriously at my local dealer that while I was there, they fired a salesman after only being there a few weeks because he got a report that very same day with an average of 80%!
If I was you, Id very politely suggest, that in the event the issue is not corrected to YOUR satisfaction, that you would return the form with a lower-than-avg. rating. Im sure he will address it then
Good Luck and let us know how it looks after you get her back
That's good info. Thanks. And I"ll be posting again once I pick the car up.

I know there is a possibility that the color won't be an "exact" match, but sanding marks and fisheyes? I don't think so.

My wife has a Scion xD RS 1.0 and the wing isn't the exact same shade as the car, for the reasons you mention.

When inspecting the car I found the scratches. My assumption was that since this was a Lexus (my first new Lexus purchase) the problem would be rectified quickly and professionally.

I now know differently.

They may have to repaint the whole bumper, and don't let a dealership do it if you want it right.I had a 06 IS350 GLACER FROST MIST tough to color match ,had to have areas repainted due to wreck.I found a shop that color matched to the car that was not a dealership paint shop and both times they color matched perfectly. The right shop can do it,don't let the dealership pick the shop or you will continue to get half *** work. You may have to go to zone to get it right, local LEXUS dealership for me acts like they are the only game in town and customer satisfaction is #1-YEAH RIGHT-they all say that

i had a similar problem with the clear cost coming off my front bumper...i had to get it painted 2 times over before i was satisfied...sometimes people just think they can half-*** a job and the owner won't notice. this bothers me. sorry to hear about your situation, but good luck with everything.
If you lived in Baltimore, like you and I do, I have a very very good body shop I go to all the time...Donahoo Body Shop in the city. I know the manager, he's always being asked to do custom paint work on classic muscle cars. He literally wet sands a car by hand for 2 days straight...he's a true perfectionist.

If anyone is around the Baltimore area, and need a good, reasonable body shop, let me know. There is no "touch up" work done when it comes to stuff like this. They should have taken the bumper off, sanded it down and resprayed/cleared it, period. Its a brand new car for effen sake.

Factory stock lip is like $120 (per piece, 2 pieces) and they're pre-painted. That would have been a cheaper/better solution.

You would think that the dealer would have gone that route. The current route certainly must be more expensive.

Got my car back today. Apparently they decided enough was enough and put the entire front bumper assembly from another identical car on mine. I looked it over very carefully and it appears flawless.

I'm a happy camper again and so glad to have my car back after driving and ES loaner all week.

I thought of that too, but I think the OP has a 2009, which doesn't have a separate lip. It's all integrated into the 1 piece bumper.
