Default Invisible shield

I saw a Porsche Cayman with clear shield at the Lexus dealer. It's that thin clear material that protects the front of your car from small chip damage. I was wondering if anyone has it on their Lexus and if so, do you recommend it.

Thanks.

Its called a clear bra or paint protection film. I have it and its wonderful the front end is still shinny and new. If you are in Southern California check out Aerotect, they are a vendor and has discount to wrap your car.

I consider a clear bra a must-have for the Lexus, especially since our paint chips so easily.

You should be able to find a number of tint shops or detailers who provide this service. It can be pricey, but well worth it.

Thank you all for the replies. I am checking out Aerotect. This seems to be a no brainer and I definately want to protect the front of my car.

3M and LLumar are good brands too. Get it done right away, before that first chip gets ya. And consider doing the entire front 1/2 of the car!

My local dealer was doing some for cars they sold and had it on the showroom floor cars. Every mark-up helps!

I live in a small southern town so I don't know how many places around do this kind of work. I think I'll check with my Lexus dealership to see if they can do it.

see if you can find the shop that does the work for the dealer. you can probably same some cash by going direct to them. also, if you have the cash, you should do the entire hood. thats what i did, so you dont even see a line.

Where do you live? I can try to help you find a dealer of venturshield.

Just call the local dealer and see who they use and if that fails checkout the ventureshield site for dealers near you.

Haha I sound like I work for the company

Default Another vote for VentureShield -

I also looked at the Dealer applied 3m stuff; nice, but easily TWICE as much as the local VentureShield guy, who then fixed the crappy job the dealer 3m guy did on the car door edges and under the door handles..
So I saved alot of money on a beautiful front end job, the entire bumper, lights,, front fenders, and mirrors, and they took off and re-did the crappy dealer 3m installer work on the door edges and behind the door handles..
Good luck with this, you will be glad, even though its an added expense..

Is it a few, or quite a few? If it's a couple paint chips, I would just use touch-up paint.

My car looked like it had driven behind a gravel truck (courtesy of the DC Beltway), so I had my entire front repainted before getting a Clearbra applied.
