I'm sorry this happened to you. To look at it on the bright side, they're jealous of you. Cuz you got a nice car. But to have such a nice car, it takes a lot to maintain. =)


If you're not a pro at fixing these scratches/ stain...I suggest you contact a professional auto detailer (imo).

 

Thanks for the suggestions guys...I think I will go to the body shop + auto detailer and see what they can do to buff out the scratches. Right now thank god it is just paint chips...etched in from the egg shells...I'll use the clay to see what happens...

I do park my car garaged at all times - I was coming home from the gym on the freeway when the incident happened. The car was on my left lane...good arm. :/

 

for what its worth...
i recall when i had purchased a brand new BLACK TSX when they first came out in 2004, first week i had it someone egged it overnight, well i didnt realize it till the next day afternoon.....summertime...needless to say the egg ruined the black paint in those areas, i actually had it buffed, cut and polished and you could still see it....so i had that for about 2 years then got my IS...

 

And of COURSE. You just HAD to be in southern CA too..i feel so much safer now My biggest fear it that somebody one day is gonna rip off my entire lip kit along w/ my trunk and roof spoiler

 

Here is the only picture that I could find. I cropped out just the egg, its 100% crop on such a small piece so its not too clear. I couldn't find the close ups I took of it. But you can see how the circular egg etched the paint. And what you see there is after as much buffing time as any body shop would put into it. Basically the etching in the paint is permanent unfortunately, but with some detailing it can be made to look fairly decent.

The second pic is what it looks like from a distance, not very noticable.

Thanks bro for the pic....so you had that buffed from a detailer, repair shop or yourself? If I don't choose the detailer route, the only way to fix that, is to re-paint right?

I detail cars as a hobby, so I have a rotary and an orbital (Porter Cable) myself along with a multitude of products, so I did it myself. You can probably take it someplace and they should be honest about whether or not they think they can get it better. The only way to make it look like new is going to be to repaint. You can possibly make it look better through detailing, but it will not go away being etched in the paint and all.

I had a quick question - for the time being, couldnt I use touch-up paint from the dealership to at least get rid of the "white" chips that are appear on the hood? That way I can repaint the car later on...? Thoughts?
