What!? My local dealer doesn't even charge for gas on the loaners. I hope they didn't change their policy.

Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys: I had an RX hybrid loaner over the weekend and it was given to me with a full tank. They never told me any instruction on returning it with a full tank nor was I informed of a charge. I returned it with the needle still close to Full thanks to the good gas mileage of the hybrid. Next time I go in, I'll inquire about their policy. (I think it would be fair to leave the car in the same condition as it was given.)

Quote: is it $.15/mile in lieu of filling up the tank?
Maybe not such a bad deal?

btw - They did fill up my IS350 for free, which was nice.
Inskip Lexus: When I picked up my IS350 the computer said I had "2 MILES" left till empty. I gassed up at "0".

you should gas up sooner than that, might burn the fuel pump one day

Never heard of that happening on a modern car.

lol, next time when you sign your loaner paper, realize you are "agreeing" to certain terms. whether they stick to the written and signed policy that's one thing, but they are there

Quote: New dealer policy: All loaner cars are charged out at $.15 a mile. No need to gas up. They will just take the odometer reading at the beginning and ending and you pay at the $.15 rate.

This is what Inskip Lexus in Warwick, RI is now doing.

Anybody else experiencing this new policy?
i'm suppose to be bringing the car down there next week, i sometimes bring it back without any gas but my service manager down there is alright with it, just says if you use a lot get close to where you were.

i swear though if this is applied to me when i go down there for the recalls, i will tell them to shove it. i know i'm only going to be driving a total of 12 miles the whole day.

normally their pretty good down there, but lately they been slipping and i know the reason why.....

No such policy in Hennessey Lexus in Atlanta. I got my IS350 back from recall service and 4 new tires fully gassed up. I returned the loaner with little extra gas since I fueled up just yesterday.
