Default My IS350 in winter mode

Picked up my car after going in for some maintenance yesterday so thought I'd take some pics of my car in winter mode.

I have to ask you if you drive your car in the snow? I really want an IS350 but I'm concerned about winters here in Pennsylvania. As I posted on earlier, my other car is a Cadillac CTS-V, a great car that goes absolutely nowhere on any kind of snow, so I don't need 2 great driving machines that I can't drive in the snow.

The 350 I saw at the showroom had "all season" tires - will they suffice in the snow? I'm really torn here. I originally had been looking at the 250AWD but the lower HP doesn't go well with me.

Yup, I drive it in the snow. I have snow tires on so it definitely makes a difference in getting around. I wouldn't go with just all season tires as it just doesn't provide the grip you need when it snows a lot. You can use the ECT snow mode to help as well.

Your Winter set of wheels look great! Are those still 18's? What winter tires are you running?

IS350 with dedicated snow tires (think Blizzaks puhleez) and you are good to go... my IS250AWD had all-seasons, but some weather needed dedicated snow... good luck!!!

Thanks! Yeah get your snows on soon. I don't know about your area, but we're going to have quite a bit of snow here this weekend.

I ran mine throughout the winter last year with no problems. You would be surprised how well snow mode, trac control, and stability control work even on a rear wheel drive, with snow tires. I went through 40+ miles of snow that was so deep it was rubbing under the car just by driving in another cars tracks. Hwy 66 Ashland OR to Klamath Falls OR in December. Also, did several trips to Bend OR from Eugene OR with no problem on ice. Coldest it got down to was 8 degrees. I couldn't be happier because the tires also handled much better than I expected on dry surfaces.

Nice.

I run 18" Blizzaks LM-25 on the stock 18 wheels here in Canada. Works out great in snow!
