+1 I would like to hear more about the escort... I was thinking about getting a V1 but living highly concentrated areas in Ca people say they get too many false alarms...

Javy the V1 is a great radar...I had mine for many years and sold it for what I paid for it. This is the greatest and latest. Vik needs to post a review and he has played with it for some time.

The V1 was slowly killing me inside. This issue is specific to IL and places which have construction signs with radar. The radar is K band FULL strength, so it mimics a cop. After a while you figure out they are falses because you pass by them and they always go off. My route to work has 2 of them. So 4 times a day I would hear the full K going off Also, the desensitization it creates is not good. I have found myself speeding when the V1 is going off legitimately

So far the 9500ix functions as described. The falses are stored after 3-4 passes. It uses GPS and the signal frequency to lock them out. The red light camera notification has come in VERY handy as well. When they put in speed cameras it will be even more helpful. Yes, I miss the arrows, but the lack of falses by far outweighs the arrows (IMO). When I get full strength radar I know it is a cop and I slow down. I don't have to look around for construction signs anymore.

I will post up a full review after 2 weeks or so of driving with it.

So does this mean you boys are going to help me install the HID on Sunday? I may drive to the dealer on Saturday and use the lift there and nock it out really quick.

yea.. the escort is really good. i had the v1 before and its just too muc..best thing about the escort is that you can lock out false alarms once u go by them with a press of a button =)

how long have you had yours Its only been a few days so I am having Vik update it and go over everything. Not sure I like the voice of it talking, can that be turned off so its only the alert/tone?
