I never understood this, but all oem bulbs are 4300 but they always look different on different cars with projector headlights. for example if you look at chrysler 300 their hid look sick with a nice mix of purple and blue but the is250 look very white. so what do you think is the brand of the bulb or the projector being better in some way. I also saw the new maxima and it looks better to me then the is250 in terms of light color

I've had 6000k Xenon Depot D4S bulbs for a couple of months. The color at first was a blueish color (not a dark blueish color but more like an ice color) and that's what I wanted. The light output is alright even with the headlights adjusted higher. I've seen other cars with 6k d4s bulbs with greater output. I've had no flickering problems yet nor have I had melted bulbs. My only problem now is that the color of the bulbs is pure white with no hint of blue whatsoever. The only time the bulbs are blue is when you initially turn it on and for a few seconds the bulbs are really blue but once they warm up they are pure white. I also have 6000k for my fogs from Xenon Depot and they are pure white as well and I'm saying wtf? I know the fogs have a different housing but I mean does it change the color that much? I'm going to take a video over break and post it here to show.

Anyone else with Xenon Depot d4s have the problem of the color going to white and not so great light output?

the color differences between all cars with projectors is due to the projector. some projectors are able to refract light differently thus giving you the color difference or the fact that their cut off line is at a different angle. if you look closely at the cut-off line of our cars, there's a blue line which depending on what angle you look at the car the light will appear blue to you (if even only for an instant).

our cars come with 4300k bulbs which from my experience appeared particularly yellow when new, however, my stock bulbs are on nearly 24/7 and they appear almost 5000k now (pure white). sometimes if you look at an older rx330 driving around with HID's you'll notice their color output looks paricularly white

PHILIPS all the way.
They actually make 6000K D4S bulbs but they are super rare to find in the U.S. market.
Try to find the V269 of manufacturing code on PHILIPS D4S bulbs. They are 6000K bulbs and they say 'Not for use in Europe/USA' on the bulbs like 6000K D2S bulbs.
I couldn't find a set of D4S, but I bought a set of D4R bulbs. I simply scrapped off the coating part to make them as D4S and I accidently broke the return wire. Now I'm trying to put those disconnected return wire together but soldering does not work because they seem to be stainless still, that soldering can't be put on.

about the projector lenses, its what gives the flicker blue/purple, next time you see a tsx park next to it and get out and examine the lens, you'll see the differences in the lens.

weesped runs XD 6k d4s, i run jdmtoy 6k d4s and both our bulbs are pure white, they look great, if you guys wanted more 'color' you shouldnt have gotten 6k, they dont advertise it as 'crystal white' for nuthin you know...

I couldn't find 6000K Philips D4S in Japan, but PIAA has 6000K D4S.
Received this a few days ago. It costs me about $320 with EMS shipping from Japan.

Question to all of you with Lexus OEM HID.

How long did it take befor you had to change your first bulb?

Mine is an -06 51000miles and my driver side bulb went out a few days ago.

im running the mobile hid 6000K bulbs in my lows and the xenon depot 6000K bulbs in my foglights with an aerotect blue overlay. both colors are a bit different, though i think thats due to the blue coating on the fog lights.
