Default Gear Change / Pick Up - Jerky?

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is just me, or what the problem might be. I just recently bought a NEW 2008 IS 250 (about 3 weeks ago). I feel like the change in gears (especially the lower ones), seem a bit jerky to me. The biggest notice is lets say I am in traffic, and the car ahead move up. I then push the accelerator a bit. I then remove my foot from the accelerator. So, now I am going like 10 mph (2nd gear). Well, lets say the car ahead of me gets even further ahead, so I obviously want to speed up a bit. Well, when I go to accelerate, the car seems to slightly "jerk" as it begins to accelerate. Is this normal with the IS? Thanks for your assistance.

I believe it's normal, it depends on how much gas you give it and how you slowly release your foot off the pedal to make that jerk or not...took me awhile to learn how to stop my car from jerking [ Correct me if im wrong guys]

i thought it felt a little jerky too, but if you think about it... the ISx50 and lexus's in general have ultra smooth rides and the interior is so quiet. so when you do feel or hear something it basically is like an amplifying effect.

I'm guessing its just you getting used to the throttle response. Try putting it in snow mode and see if you still experience it. If it goes away then it your foot, not the car.

if u can feel the jerk on a 250, u must have a iron foot. cause when i drive its nothing but smooth, when i ride in llama's 350 in snow it has as much pull as my car in pwr floored haha
