Innovative, but I like it when it's more in the center because even though it might be uglier, more people are used to seeing a license plate there and having it elsewhere would draw attention

Agree. And given it probably isn't tamper resistant I don't like it.

But you don't need any tools to mess with it you can use your bare hands. Some stupid kid on a skateboard going by could just decide to mess with you. With a normal mount you can slow people down more if they don't have the right tools, you can put tamper resistant bolts like torx head bolts or something to slow them down more.

But maybe if you located the plate bracket just so the lower left corner overlapped with the grill opening you could feed something through the grill to keep people from unscrewing the whole thing with their bare hands.

You could use something like Lok-tite so that it's much more difficult to unscrew it. Depending on what you use it would not be possible to unscrew it by hand.

Regardless, the point is that it's an alternative to those that don't want to drill their front bumpers, but are required by law to have a front license plate. I would think this would be great for show cars and the like. I think it's a great idea.

Heres their website for people who interested in the same product
http://www.rhoplate.com/RPTL01.html

I don't think they start taking order yet, It should be ready by a week or two.

Yes it might not be the best position to place the plate,
but thats the only plate holder which doesn't need drilling to the bumper.
Lexus should have design the plate holder mount in front lower grill.

It will cost me $196 CAD for not having the front plate display, if the fine is under $100, I might take chances for not putting the plate on

no problem, I just want people to save their time for searching the front plate holder which doesn't need drilling to the bumper.

Our tow hook came in a very long size, comparing to the other vehicle. There isn't too many company make it specifically for the 2IS.

It certainly is innovative, but, I don't understand why you did this when your front bumper is already drilled.

Same in Texas! I don't have front plates on my IS250 either. I've seen a lot of ISx50s on the road without front plates too. More without than with. No ticket so far, and I've driven by a lot of police cars.

i got pulled over couple of weeks ago...i'll just have to pay $25..i'm not even going to bother to go to CHP for inspection...if i do decided to get it inspected, i have to buy a double stick tape and drive off to inspection facility and hoping they don't come out and check it its bolted... DAMN why have license plate in th FRONT arghh...(other than camera issue in the middle of the intersection.).
