My First Mods 56k Beware!!!
looks very nice! i like your custom sound system set up, did you connect to your factory headunit? have you experienced any issues with too much low end bass? i'm having that problem now, and it just doesn't sound right, too much low end bass and the over all bass sound is not consistant.
I am running the factory headunit and the low end bass does hit harder than the higher beats but it's not a terrible difference. I may run a JL Clean Sweep with this setup because I heard that the clean sweep sends a flat signal to a factory unit. When I first got my car back from the installers it did hit to low but all I did was adjust the Low Pass filter on the amp to about 160Hz and it even the signal out a lot better but since I'm a perfectionist I'll probably have the Clean Sweep installed this weekend. I need to do more research to make sure it's worth buying. They cost around $300.
After experimenting with my amp, I figured out how to add mid range bass and lighten some of the low end bass. Most decent amplifiers have a low pass filter and some sort of subsonic filter. The kicker amp I bought has a bass boost along with the gain control to adjust the bass volume and output levels. I found the best results with teh subsonic filter on and the low pass filter at 170Hz. I run the gain fairly low and the bass boost at 3.5 Db. This gave me a substantual increase in mid bass and lowered some of the output of the low end bass. The low end bass still hits real hard but it's not over whelming anymore. What I would suggest is that if you have the warm and fuzzy on your amp then play around with the settings to see if you can increase some of the mid range. Not all amps are this user friendly, the amp I run for my subs in my trunk doesn't have the flexiblility that my new kicker amp has.
