You might say that you WILL wear leather jacket, helmet, gloves, boots....... but trust me, they get really hot under the sun and most riders (experienced or not) do not wear any.
The sun brings me to my next point. I can tell you more than likely you will be riding most at night because its cooler and thats when bike nights take place.
If you really want to ride and not just show off to the girls at your school to boost up your ego, I think you should start small (any 500cc) and go big later. Its cheaper to upgrade than replacing plastic fairings, medical bills or even losing your life.
Just my honest .02
ok......... I do think you should get A bike BUT not the 750 as your first one. Like some members said already you WILL hurt yourself on this bike(lowside, high side, poor traffic control and prediction). Although the 750 is a couple years old, it is still no joke--about 130+horses on a machine that weights 450 pounds and capable of over 170mph.

thanks,
this guy isnt getting back to me, so i stunbled upon some new offers. mostly 600 bikes. thats fine for me.
Whatever you do, especially your first street bike with no street riding experience, just remember that to gear up for that "fall"
Have you asked your parents what they thought about you getting your own bike? Or your girlfriend? I know it seems silly, but bikes can be dangerous (we get a couple of fatalities every few months here in NorCal) and there are other people who care about you besides yourself. To disregard their opinions would be selfish...
You'd think that at 25, I'd be giving more fun answers than that, but maybe I'm growing up way too quickly...
O.K. There's a motorcycle question on the 2IS Forum...
First and foremost, what is more functional for you? Is it better for you to have a more performance oriented vehicle (your IS with mods)? Or is it better for you to have a second vehicle for enthusiastic rides (the bike)?
Personally, I think that having a two stock vehicles are better than a modded single vehicle.
That being said, I voted for you to get the bike.
And I do want to say that I am against a young rider buying a more powerful bike. It is unncessesary and dangerous. I myself am an experienced rider, and I see too many young riders that injure themselves due to a lack of experience and excessive over-confidence.
A GSXR 750 is great, but do realize that it is a powerful bike (even if it isn't 1000cc), expensive to insure, but easy to maintain and modify. If you want a powerful bike that costs less to insure but is quite reliable, a Yamaha FZ6 or SV650S will provide as much pleasure without the aggressive performance for potential injury. Also, you can find those two bikes used for much cheaper (usually two years old with less than 10k miles for near $4k) because they are not as popular as GSXRs, and will not be ridden as hard or modified so heavily as GSXRs, or have the potential of being dropped and damaged without full disclosure.
Good luck! And post pics of that bike when you get it!!!

Liability covers other parties if you (hopefully not) get in an accident.
Liability - This coverage pays for accidental bodily injury and property damages to others. Injury damages include medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages. Property damage includes damaged property and automobiles. This coverage also pays defense and court costs. State laws determine how much liability coverage you must purchase, but you can always get more coverage than your state requires.
Comprehensive - This coverage pays for loss or damage to the insured vehicle that doesn't occur in an auto accident. The types of damages comprehensive insurance covers include loss caused by fire, wind, hail, flood, vandalism or theft.
