Default Purchasing IS250 - Need Purchase Help

Ive been looking at getting a IS250 for the past couple months and finally have decided to go with it (over the 128, 328xi, TL, C300, CTS). I went in over the weekedn to get a preliminary quote and this is what they gave me

41,089 for a fully loaded (without xm, ipod, camera) black on black IS250 AWD (help out the wife for MN winters). They will take my 2003 VW Jetta GL for 6500, and without me asking dropped the price down to 38000. So all set and done out the door with tax, title, reg etc for $34000. Im not sure if this is a good deal because i cannot figure out the invoice price for this car. Is the invoice of an IS250 AWD about 34k.

What do you guys think i should offer, especially with 1st qtr sales extremely down? In my mind this is how it plays out...

IS250 AWD fully loaded (with every option): 37k
VW Jetta trade: 7.5k

Out the door: 31.5k at most

Is that reasonable?

Thanks for you input.

Ku

I priced something out on Edmunds.

Assuming you are getting Pre-Collision System, Lux Plus Pack, Mark Levinson, Headlamp washers, the MSRP is close to yours at $41045, the Invoice is $35721 and the True Market Value is $37248. I don't know what the value of your Jetta is, but check the web and try and get an estimate for your car there. The Lexus dealer that I work with uses Galves to price trade in's, which was similar to Edmunds' trade in values.

It's probably different out where you live, but here in Cali you should be able to drop about $5k or more from the MSRP. So if I were you, try knocking the price of the IS a couple more grand.
