if you don't want to hydro plane, invest in some tires.

yup, turanzas suck in the rain. actually, they just suck period. however, these tires have made me realize that if vsc were a girl, we'd be married by now... but only when its raining...

everycar and anycar can hydroplane its the speed you are traveling which causes the lost of traction when hitting a puddle of water. just drive defensively and safely when wet out. tires can help but wont completely eliminate hydroplaning

doesn't matter once the lights are off

true that the only real way to avoid hydroplaning is to drive safely and sensibly when its raining out. but cmon... we all need a reason to justify to our spouses/girl(boy)friends/parents spending money to replace these crap turanzas.

Would something like adding mud guards do the trick? or is this someting I just have to live with.

Thanks
dont think they got mudguarss for IS.......

time to get new tires.....

Thanks to all for the feedback. I'm just used to being able to speed through puddles since I had a rangerover sport supercharged before this...but I guess I'll take it easy till I get these tires switched out, which won't be anytime soon since I have only 3000 miles on them.

if you want i will sell you the potenza'a i have from the OEM rims. They have about 12k miles on them? PM me if that is of help.

I am swapping them out and not using the OEM rims in about a week. Waiting on one last tire to show up to Discount. PS2's where hard to get since they are on backorder.

Slow down turbo when you're driving in the rain.

If you need a great all-season tire for great wet traction, Continental Extreme Contacts. I know you are in Florida, but they do get some wicked storms that produce large amounts of terrential downpoors. If you like to smoke-em up, I would get a cheaper tire. It is best to read the reviews on TireRack and Discount Tire site for a better opinion. My buddy had a set of Turanzas for a month an hated them for this reason and poor cold weather traction.
