Default rock chips??

i know there is a thread about it, but what are you guys using for highway driving? i keep hearing little rocks and eventually it's going to lead to an awful spider web crack

can someone send me the thread about this? or let me know what and how much the shield is that you are using, thanks

It is a thick clear vinyl that they wrap your front end with. They use the same stuff on private planes.

no real protection for the windshield. a clear bra will protect your paint, but a good size rock can still chip/crack your windshield. lots of people have complained that the lexus oem glass is weak. i've gotten about 10 tiny chips in my windshield, but thankfully no cracks yet. if you believe the hype, you can try something called diamondite shield... according to the manufacturer, it adds "scratch and chip protection to all glass, tile, marble, and plastic surfaces."

i should of gotten a clear bra, i have 5 rock chips on my bumper and two on my hood, the ones on the bumper are so bad that it dinged the bumper. i dont think its worth getting a clear bra anymore.

but i would highly recommend it, the reason i didnt get one is because i read that it makes black cars look less shiny.

VentureShield clearbra installed a few days back. Total hood, total front bumper, leading edges of fenders, and both mirrors. Car already had a few small nicks in the hood and I was having nightmares about my IS looking like my friend's G35C...his hood looks like a minefield.

but if you have a dark colored car you'll see the chips on your front bumper and hood much more than you will on the windshield.

I am all for the clear bra, it took me a half hour to fix rock chips this past weekend. At least the Lexus touch up paint is pretty close to the OEM paint. At least for the Tungsten Pearl. I wish i had the clear bra installed when the car was new and no chips.

The touch up paint for SGM looks okay from one angle, then totally off from another, almost flat in luster, rather than shiny.

I personally think it's great of Lexus to use this evo. friendly paint that looks like hell after a month of driving...One more reason not to buy a Lexus.

I get an average of about 3 a week...No joke. This shouldn't be like this.
I don't even travel very many highways.
There has to be a better way.
The dealer never even offered the clear bra as an option. My friends told me about it after my first chip.
