Alignment Issue?
I just recently got Sumitomo 275/40/18 in the rear with my Work XT7 +38 offset. I was washing my car and noticed that only one side looks as though it rubs bad, it actually cracked and bent the fender back and up into the wheel well. After inspection of both sides, it seems as though the one side where it rubs bad, the tire seems to jut out just ever so slightly which could result in the rubbing. Just curious but is this a alignment issue? Also a bit of FYI, I've yet to get an alignment since I got the car and I have about 33k miles. What are the opinions on this? Would alignment possibly correct the rubbing? Thanks in advance for all the input.
I am not sure of your problem, but I noticed my fronts wearing on the inside and they told me alignments are only covered by warranty in the first 12000 miles. I have 21000. I had them look anyway and they found it to be so bad they had to install an additional support arm, which required alignment so it was covered. At least this support why to take car to the dealer....maybe they can catch situations such as this that my AutoX alignment shop was not aware of.
Thanks for the input but I think we are on separate pages here. Anybody else might know what can be done? I tried getting the fender rolled but the guys at this wheel place told me they didnt want to do it because they are afraid to mess up because the fender is so thin. ANy other suggestions would be appreciated.
