Couldn't agree more! I was seriously thinking about getting an A5, but dealers couldn't give me a delivery date. My impulsiveness took over, and I got the IS! Reliability was definitely a factor in that decision, as well.
The A5/S5 is still sooooooooooooo sexy though. Maybe I'll give the IS to the wife one day and still pick one of these babies up.

Just an opinion. I've never been impressed by Audi and can't see why anyone would buy one over a BMW. When most people think of the major/top luxury brands I think Mercedes, BMW and Lexus are the ones. Audi isn't on most people's list, IMO. Also, I've heard Audi has terrible resale value (could be wrong). That sad, reasonable minds can differ.
A4/S4/RS4 looks way better than any 3 series.
TT looks way better than the hideous Z4
note - just "built my own" 135i on the BMW site...of course its $42K with prem + sport pkg and NOTHING ELSE....so its not an option either.

Hahaha!!! That would be awkward.
As for buying the TT, can't really say your doing something wrong or anything. Your decision is based on you and the type of cars you are interested in or that interests you. But as someone said before, I would probably try and keep the IS and then buy the TT.

my take is i think audi has a superior design style than bmw and benz, the audi line of cars are very design focused.... i think many designers will tend to agree that audi has a more edgy and progressive design that may just step a notch over many ppls acceptance level jsut a little bit.... i'm just purely talking about looks and nothing mechanical.
lexus on the other hand in the looks department has a very updated stylish look but still very conventional because lexus is a brand about refinement (i dont think audi is....)
anyways I think the TT looks great, and not a chick car to me... the old one looks great too I think...
at the end of the day u gotta consider.... do u really need to go fast, would u be missing out on something if you reached 60mph 1 or 2 seconds slower or would u prefer to smile everytime u look at your car as u are walking up to it?
my opinion is biased... if i had the money i would get the new TT... because it does have a manual version and i love manual cars.... now if the ISF had a manual then it would be a harder decision... haha..... also i doubt i even use 50% of my cars max horsepower on my daily drive so speed / acceleration to me is no issue.... plus i'm not in a hurry and dying to get to work.... i would prefer to arrive safely in style and look nice while doing so.

Based on the lineup of cars in your sig, I think all this is moot. No car satisfies you for more than a year or two at most, so go ahead and get the TT to take care of this itch, knowing that you'll be on to the 2009/10 models soon anyway.
How much depreciation have you eaten on all those late model cars!

Last month I briefly thought of swapping my IS for the convertible as well.
I think it looks HOT and I would absolutely drive one.
If you really want it then be like Nike - just do it!

I am not disagreeing, I am just saying none of my audis ever had those problems, and they were pretty heavily modified as well with very aggressive software, exhaust, suspension.
