I had rattles over the center speaker, above the Navi and on the front left speaker. Took it in at 10k service. They have the kit for all of this (see the item on the bill) and they fixed it. It has been about 4 weeks and 0 degree or below but it's still GOOD. no more rattles so far.
Take it in. they will fix it.

What do they do to fix the rattle in the rear? I'm gonna install a roof spoiler probably tomorrow but if they are gonna play around with the back glass, then I don't want the spoiler to be in the way.

I've taken mine in on 3 different occasions. They finally put the entire rear deck back using foam rubber. That helped some but I still hear that rattling noise. They replaced the rear speakers and that didnt help. Best I can tell, its the ML subwoofer. They have not replaced that.

When I first joined CL, I thought people were overly sensitive about squeaks and rattles. BUT now I realize what it's all about. My IS is on its 4th day at the dealer getting the dash, driver's seat and sunroof taken care of (plus the door panel they scratched in the process, which they are compeltely replacing).
In fact, they called me yesterday about the seat noise, said they couldn't hear it. I told them that's the one I hear most consistently, and if they can't take care of it, I'll just have it on the to-do list on my next appointment. They tried to sell me a BS line that they cant perform a TSB repair if they dont experience the problem. They must have gone back and heard it...
I agree with other posters that it's a bit disappointing from a quality control standpoint.

It's really a shame how Toyota quality keeps slipping.I have a center dash like a rock hitting the windshield loudish popping sound at times. Also have some minor rattle issues.Very frustrating.
I really don't want the dealer service dept to take apart my dash. That may lead to other noise issues depending on the dealers work,IMO.
I had a '99 Tacoma that was tight as a drum.No rattles or creaks for the whole time I owned it.
Go figure!
