I have a new 2007 IS 350. When I put the car into drive and barely step on the gas I hear this strange crackling or crunching sound, but only for a few seconds. It happens everytime I go from Park to drive and press on the gas...anyone? the car has 600 miles on it.

 

I hear a crunching noise occasionally when I turn my car on. It only lasts for a second as my car revs up, but it is pretty distinct. Anybody know what this might be?

 

hmmm mine does it when i go from drive back to park when it is a very cold day.

Are you pressing on the gas before the car goes in gear?

 

It only happens when I first put in drive and then step on the gas, even lightly it still makes that sound but only when i first put it in gear.......and just for a few seconds.

 

i'm trying to think back but i somehow remember this being a known issue with resolution.
