Instead of the M3, get the IS-F in the same silver color just to one up him!

2 days ago the tenant in the third building bought showed up in the parking lot, in a space not 10 feet from my car with a brand new silver IS350. The exact same car as mine in every way with the exception of different wheels and a shark fin. This one kind of pisses me off, this guy has seen my car parked out there for the past 2 years (I don’t even know him) and he gets the same damn car as me. Why the hell would the guy do that?

20 cars park there and there’s 3 IS's within 25 feet of each other. UG.... how lame is that.

I still rarely see IS's around here and never see IS350's and now a guy has one that looks exactly the same and parks near me.

Hell the dumb arss should have talked to me, I would have sold him mine... I still only have 9K miles after 2 years.

I consider it important for me to own a car that is low production and rare in the area. Meaning if someone sees my IS, its probably the first time they have seen one in my color and model. I dont want to be in a car thats a dime a dozen (aka my Sti and S2000's fetishes)

Time to trade in for a M3
What would I do? I'd get over it quickly. There's 12 houses on my street, and 3 Honda Pilots, including mine. The neighbors directly across the street from me, 6 months after I got mine, bought one the exact same color (I would have thought they could have picked another color--they've had 4 Hondas in the 5 years I've lived there, all different colors). Confuses the hell out of my kids when the see it drive by ("Where's mommy going"). But seriously, big deal.

In fact--isn't it really your own fault? If you hadn't parked that lovely car there for the past 2 years, other people wouldn't have been admiring it, and desiring one of their own.

When I first started reading this thread, I thought someone F'd up your car or something. If this guy has been seeing your car for the last two years and all of a sudden purchases one just like yours, you should be flattered. It obviously shows that you have good taste (hell, I guess we all do since we all have IS's!! ).

I wouldn't let it bother me if I were you. Unless you spending more than $100K on a car, exclusivity isn't going to be your thing. Either that or go buy yourself something like a Pontiac Aztek. I'm sure your neighbors won't be coming home with one of those anytime soon.

If you want further exclusivity, just start making the car your own. You have the best source for mods with this forum!

Put the ego back in the bottle. Trade for a Ferrari, paint your car pink, or just live with it, who cares. It's just a car, and an 'old' 2006 one at that. Oh, the humanity.
