You can order the sport pack. Call Cindy at JM Lexus. She will help you order what you want. She knows her business.

Will it be a special order meaning I have to wait months for the vehicle?

I seem to recall that the only suspension difference of sport vs. non-sport is the springs, and the only major interior difference is the (MUCH nicer, IMO) grey trim vs wood trim.

If so, you could theoretically get a non-sport IS and have the suspension and interior trim pieces swapped out for the appropriate Lexus parts.

You don't have to special order. Dealers can usually dealer swap for the package you are looking for. I live in Ohio and although we don't have all the packages available, I have seen an X package on my local dealers lot, when I asked them where it came they said it was a dealer trade from atlanta. They also mentioned they could dealer trade with west coast to get any package available. But if you are truly picky you can always special order.

not every dealer is going to be this accomodating on the distance they will swap a car.

UPATE: I test drove and IS for the first time and its a nice vehicle. For me, its too small and unaccomodating in the back for my family of 4. Otherwise, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

So, what other options are you looking at?

If the IS350 is too small, have you considered the GS350?

I am not a big fan of the GS styling. I am looking at the Cadillac CTS and the G35. BMW too small as well.

I see.

Does anyone know when is the G35 sedan going to become the G37 sedan?

Though the G is a bit bigger on the inside, I've found that an extra inch or so does not make that much of a difference. The CTS does seem to be considerably bigger though, and at least in the latest iteration, much much nicer than the outgoing model.

The IS is definitely not an everyday 4 person car.
