2001 for w203 C classes were problematic.. first year bugs, I'll try to remember that and take that into consideration the next time I see a new car. resist and allow time to debug the car's problems before buying.

Yeah, that was the one - 2001 w203 C classes - at the time, they were brand new and beautiful compared to the boxy outgoing one. My wife totally fell in love with it at the dealership. Sigh... I lost almost 8-10K that 5 months of use. The 2002ML500 was also the first year for the 500. So I went from first year to first year. My IS350 was a 2005 purchase (first month production). My old 97 Camry was also a first year model. I'm forever screwed - I'm always gonna get first year. Oh, our 400h was also the first year hybrid RX. I see a trend - but I've been lucky with Toyota and Lexus and not with MB.

Man, do you ever get anything more than a token discount on your car purchases then? Nice to have the latest toys though...

The RX400 and IS350 both were full sticker - it didn't help that I was getting out of a lease 2 years early too. The lease vehicles were ES300 and RX330 with no down so technically, I was upsidedown on both RX400 and IS350. So, in actuality, my IS350 was 38K but I believe the final price was like 43K (after getting out of ES lease) and the RX which was 48K was more like 54K. Token discount? No, royally screwed.

Because of guys like me paying the salary of those salesmen, you guys are getting cars at barely above invoice so I expect a thank-you. LOL
