So there I am....5 year old granddaughter in the back seat. I punch the IS350 (safely and carefully of course) and in the back seat I hear "Oh yeah, that is cool". I informed her that that feeling is from "thrust" and that ALL of grandpa's cars will ALWAYS have it!! Yup, I'm an old guy but I will never, ever own a car that does not have copius amounts of "thrust".

I'm sure I messed up the Lexus plan of selling the IS350 to the young crowd. Oh well.

I think some people can't get good gas mileage on the 250 cuz their foot is telling them to keep pushing the gas more than people who push the gas pedal on the 350.

I mean who cares if the price of gas goes up........as long as I can enjoy my car........screw the rest of the world. Wow.....love that attitude ol' boy. That's kind of like saying I'll drive my huge SUV cause I'm rich and can afford the gas.........that's not the frickin point. The point is getting 10/15 mpg leaves less gas for the rest of us and that drives up the cost for everyone.

My advice is keep enjoying your IS350 cause the time is coming when high powered cars will become a thing of the past. The world just can't afford the fun and games anymore.

Not a soap box rant here........just something to think about.

This forum was not started just for performance gear heads. I believe it was started so anyone with a Lexus could exchange ideas on any topic that involves their Lexus.

JMHO.........I could be wrong

You are right. IF-F owner will say 350 is slow, but god damn the 250 is slow!!!. Seriously, they made this car way too slow. Even a 4 cyl. accord feel faster. (yes, I have few accords in the past.)

Heck, my friend said his 350 loaner is way too much for him to handle compare to his 250. He's glad he didn't get it cuz it might give him a lot of tickets. Is too much power good or bad?

People who drives a turbo car will most likely not compare their car with a non-turbo car.

I think a 3 series driving feeling are much better than the lexus... am I wrong?I accept the truth that my friend's 3 series handles much better than mine, heck, even my friend's x5 handles better than mine.

No it isn't. Not by a long shot. Bring on Procede and your 335. My IS350 isn't my fastest car and I didn't buy it because it was fast, I bought it because it wasn't slow. When your Procede 335 hits 145k miles without a major issue, then we can talk. Until then, I'll continue to drive my Supra when I want speed and my IS when I want four doors that can get out of its own way when necessary.

Yeah, for real. I realize and admit I bought the cheaper alternative because I could't afford a 350 (in Canada at least) but there's too much snobbery going on in here. It's not even a money issue for everyone either... good for those of you who wanted to pay $10,000 extra for an extra 100 hp and bigger brakes. I personally couldn't afford a 350, but I also wanted to save money on gas (over 1 buck per litre up here) and on insurance too. Plus I know whenver I need to get my 'race' on I can borrow my dad's new 500hp Merc SL.

It's good the IS-F is coming out soon, must be a blow in the face for all of those who think they're cooler for having a 350.

who said we hate 250? I just think the car is slow but other than that it's great.

As for the bimmer, I told my friend that his car will break in no time and sure thing it did. His fuel pump broke and he waiting for the replacement part for 2 weeks. Seriously, I see more bimmer loaner on my street.... this is off topic.

There will always be faster cars than the one/ones we own. If we look hard we will always be able to find slower cars than we own. Some one will always have a house higher on the hill and bigger than ours. So what? IS cars are very nice. IS300's look pretty sharp to me. ISX50's are pretty sharp as well.

I do find it amazing that my bone stock IS350 will whip my Plymouth muscle car (bought new by me over 37 years ago) with it's fire breathing V8, 4 speed and "Sure grip" diff. Oh the Plymouth sounds awesome and lays 2nd and 3rd gear rubber as it storms along. But while it is roaring through the gears the IS350 is watching it all in it's rear view mirror.

As for me. I respect and admire ALL ISX50 vehicles. Personal taste should be respected. Just MHO.
