I was debating between 35% and 28% all around, I ended up going with 28%. After it was done, I was so glad I didn't go with 35%, because 28 is just perfect, not too dark and not too light. 35% would've been too light for me. If you came from 5%, I'd say go with something a bit darker than 35. I can see perfect al night also, no problems here. Here's mine with 28%, black interior, on a sunny day.
first of all what color is the exterior of your car? 35% is very very light from the inside. if you look at the white car it looks dark for a couple of reasons, the car is white: whenever there is a contrasting color it looks darker; the car is in the shade: makes it look darker; the angle: from the front it looks dark because you are looking through 2 layers where as from the rear you are looking through 1 cause the windshield is clear. at my shop EVERY lexus we do chooses one shade all the way around. its either 35%, 20%, or 15%. we dont recommend limo(5%) especially on a lexus. 15% for those who like it dark and the tinted look, just like the privacy glass on SUV's. 20% for those who want a classy tinted look. and 35% for those who just want it barely tinted. here in cali ive never had a lexus come back with a ticket, it just isnt a car that cops look for. i think you'll be happy with 20% if its a light color like white or silver. 15% for a darker color like gray or black.
go with an advanced film like ceramic, or carbon. dont get a dyed film it will bubble and turn purple even though its covered under the warranty, get it done right the first time. i recommend 3M carbon, formula one pinnacle, or llumar axcess. all these films are good black looking and will not interfere with any of your receptions or signals.
i have 3M 50% on my car cause i wanted the lightest tint with no brown or green in it. my lexus glass was green factory tinted and the llumar and formula one accented that. the 3M is more cobalt black, so it cancelled out the green and now looks light grey. youre IS glass doesnt have the green tint.
imho 35 isnt dark at all, i really wish my car was 20 or somthing like that. but 35 does look nice on the car and it gives u the piece of mind when ur car is still legal so just for that i say go with 35
With a silver color car, your tint at 35% will look dark, but inside it really isn't that dark. I have a black color car with 35% and it barely looks tinted. My dad has a silver TL and his 35% looks very dark. Inside both cars is black leather and it looks about the same, not too dark. I'm in Oregon, so we don't get that much hot sun. You are in TX. If you can get away with it, I would go with 20% to battle the hot sun!
i forget my exact numbers....but im pretty sure i got 15 or 20 % on my two front windows...and then my passenger windows and rear are limo....during the day the fronts can be seen through if the suns out...and if u keep the sunroof visor open(if u have one)....at night its nice and dark, but u shouldnt get bugged at night anyways....but the limo on the back looks real good...and u cant see **** through them....check out this link that a friend of mine posted...it has pics of my car in it...mines the one with the Japanese plate in the front... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=309822
Works for me! mine is dark gray with dark inside and looks classy! its a 40K car dont want to make it look like a civc or a hoop. Go for it! youll like it
I'll have to say I am concerned with people seeing inside, but my MAIN concern is how dark the ambiance is on the inside. I don't want all that light shining inside. I want it to look like it looks like if you were in the back of a limo. Obviously not that dark because I don't wanna get 5% anymore, but you get the idea. I'm thinking 15-20% to really make the interior look dark and comfortable.

So your interior is dark as hell during the day too?
dude i got 15 percent all around and you can still see through my car.. i have black interior too btw.. 15 ftw! lol
You can STILL see through? Dang, i'm think i'm gonna get 20% on the front and 5% on the back sides and rear window Hell might even get 20% all around and lay a 5% over that in the back sides and rear

If you want to feel like you're in a limo, then get limo tints. If you want to get 20% then it won't be legal. If you get 35% you won't like it. Basically you want something you can't have. Dark but legal??
