Chromies need extra TLC to avoid pitting, cracking, flaking, etc, etc... to prolong their "gleam" for many years to come..
Personally, I have owned chrome on other cars in the NorthEast region. I never looked back when I bought my 2001 IS300 with "Graphite Polished Wheel Finish" and Thank God the 2008 came with the "Liquid Graphite Wheel Finish"..
It's if Lexus knew I exactly what I wanted my second time around..

Dude i would be careful with that quote. All reputable companies i have checked out are far more expensive than that. How long will they back there chroming for flaking. If it were me i'd go to ebay there are pleanty of factory is chrome rims there for like 475.00. JMO
In fact, I don't like anything that isn't OEM Lexus, including floor mats, body kits, etc. That probably gets me kicked off this board, I know
I think chrome rims look pretty good, if you get the right kind of rims. Personally, I really don't like the stock rims in chrome and opted out when the dealer asked if I wanted that option.
I made it dead even - the stealership tried to charge me $1800 for them when I bought the car and I basically told them to shove it. I want the chrome rims, but it's over 1 year later and I still have the silver OEM 18's on. other mods first.....

Glad to see i'm not the only person that thinks chrome is hideous- there was a time when chrome was cool, circa 1959
