Post So far the poll is split 50/50 .. I'm a no...

Chromies need extra TLC to avoid pitting, cracking, flaking, etc, etc... to prolong their "gleam" for many years to come..

Personally, I have owned chrome on other cars in the NorthEast region. I never looked back when I bought my 2001 IS300 with "Graphite Polished Wheel Finish" and Thank God the 2008 came with the "Liquid Graphite Wheel Finish"..

It's if Lexus knew I exactly what I wanted my second time around..

Glad to see i'm not the only person that thinks chrome is hideous- there was a time when chrome was cool, circa 1959

Dude i would be careful with that quote. All reputable companies i have checked out are far more expensive than that. How long will they back there chroming for flaking. If it were me i'd go to ebay there are pleanty of factory is chrome rims there for like 475.00. JMO

I think it also depends on where you live. My dealer said that in SoCal they sell like crazy, but you can't give them away in Northern Cal as they only want stock, stock, stock. I actually don't like aftermarket rims (go ahead, flame me now) In fact, I don't like anything that isn't OEM Lexus, including floor mats, body kits, etc. That probably gets me kicked off this board, I know

I think chrome rims look pretty good, if you get the right kind of rims. Personally, I really don't like the stock rims in chrome and opted out when the dealer asked if I wanted that option.

I did a swap for $600 total including labor and balancing.

Thanks for the pics. I like the chrome better on black than red. I feel better than yesterday about not buying chrome 18" stock wheels before the car got here.

I made it dead even - the stealership tried to charge me $1800 for them when I bought the car and I basically told them to shove it. I want the chrome rims, but it's over 1 year later and I still have the silver OEM 18's on. other mods first.....

I think chrome is tacky on the IS. Looked good on my 94 E320 though.
