And that's all we have. However, some thought the '08s were going to include mirror turn signals, which we all know is false in the North American model. Nevertheless there are multiple threads on here asking about the mirror turn signals that don't exist on our cars.

My guess is JensBoo's car was just moving very slowly when she input that info. If I remember right, the Nav input unlocks at speeds under either 5 or 3 mph.

Interesting...I would have thought it would just get the signal that it's in park versus drive. Similar to the DVD functionality which gets the emergency brake going to ground before it'll play.

Same w/transferring a call if your are talking throught the vehicle; if you slow down to about 5 MHP, the [Transfer Call] button is activated, and the grays's out if you accelerate past.

Yes, 7.1 introduces a short "don't look at me while driving screen" which automatically disappears after 5secs, but also doesn't allow you to get past it in less than 5secs.
If upgrading an older DVD, it updates the firmware and disables the override present in most/all 2006 IS. However, a hybrid disc with 1600 firmware can be made to allow both 7.1 map data and override (allows entering nav dest. while driving)

So now wait.... If a hybrid disc is made I wonder if we will lose the new temporary "I Agree" screen feature... Meaning will it still go away on its own? Anyone made a hybrid DVD with the new '08 data yet?

Thanks. I thought you just commented about its capability of doing so, not actually doing so...

Installing 6.1 or 7.1 DVD WILL disable the override and having 7.1 WILL make the "I Agree" screen appear for 5secs and then disappear.
If you make a 7.1 "hybrid" disc, you'll get back the "I agree" button but you'll regain the override.

(I can actually confirm both of the above items)

Personally, I'd rather have the "I agree" screen (independent of the override), since VaisTech iPod gets rid of it automatically, but if I want it to disappear earlier, I can press "I agree", which you can't with the new screen and have to wait 5secs for it to go away before entering a destination.

^^ Wow as soon as you turn the car ON you are ready to input and address..?

In the 5 secs it takes, I usally put my seatbelt on and press 1 on my memory seats.. When I'm ready to look at the screen its been waiting for me..

I guess what I am trying to say is that I never had to wait for the 5 secs, since I'm usually pre-occupied for 4.9 secs after starting/sitting in my car.

You know what they say...People in NY want everything FAST.
And no, I don't have the patience to wait 5 secs if I don't have to...and I've pressed "I agree" before Vaistech did.
